Dameon Priestly (b. Belfast, Northern Ireland) is a UK-based contemporary artist whose work traverses memory, identity and cultural history with an incisive, humanistic eye. He graduated from the University of Ulster with a BA (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles Design and Illustration, where he was recognised as Irish Design Graduate of the Year. He lives and works in Rochester, Kent, and has exhibited extensively both in the UK and internationally since the late 1990s.

Priestly’s practice is rooted in storytelling — he interrogates overlooked histories and marginalised narratives through meticulous, emotionally charged portraiture and visual inquiry. His work is informed by personal experience and broader social currents, from civil rights movements to the avant-garde cultural scenes of major cities, always foregrounding empathy, resistance and historical context.

Priestly’s work has attracted international attention. His collectors include film director Spike Lee, and he has created sleeve artwork for three of Van Morrison’s albums. His art has been featured in numerous publications and media, televised and streamed interviews, and podcasts.
