Electric CEO & Founder, Mark Woolley was named winner of the Salon Design award at HJ’s British Hairdressing Awards 2022.

Electric Space located in London’s Fitzrovia beat finalists from all over the UK to win the prestigious title, in recognition of a showstopping salon aesthetic that complements both the business and its values, whilst providing an exceptional client experience.

HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards have been a highlight of the industry’s calendar for the past 24 years. Held on Monday 4th July at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, the awards recognise the most successful salon businesses that have helped make the British hairdressing industry the most respected in the world. From standout salons and exemplary teamwork to groundbreaking innovations and trailblazing individuals, HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards are an annual celebration of business brilliance.

Entering this category requires the submission of a detailed dossier, outlining the key features that make the salon’s design so successful, including insight on budget and challenges faced, as well as how the finished design was promoted. Entries are then judged by a panel made up of category sponsors and industry experts.

On being announced as the winner, Mark Woolley said: ‘We designed Electric Space to be versatile - everybody is welcome and can be creative together and have a good time. It’s important that our industry is seen for its incredible business opportunities, to inspire the next generation of people leaving school and wanting to pick the right career.’

Jayne Lewis-Orr, Executive Director of HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards said: ‘Our industry is a creative one and our businesses should reflect this. In Electric Space, Mark has created a salon that feels luxurious yet unintimidating, with consideration to every aspect of the client journey and he should be incredibly proud of all he has achieved.
